 rate across disciplines and converge solutions\n	prioritize Senegal as a s
 etting to exemplify the work but with regional impact and potential for re
 ach\n	Apply the very latest science into an ecosystem that is evolving int
 o a hub for translational impact and production\n\nThe purpose of this cal
 l is to solicit proposals from innovators working across Africa and Africa
 n scientists in the diaspora on interventions to enhance epidemic intellig
 ence\, surveillance\, and outbreak response.\n\nAmount & Duration: US$ 50\
 ,000.00 over a period of 18 months\nOn completion\, successful projects wi
 ll be eligible for assistance with additional resource mobilization\, proj
 ect planning and grant monitoring.\n\nScope: Grand Challenges Senegal has 
 been established to:\n\n	Advance life science innovation and publich healt
 h in Africa\n	Elevate the work and profile of Senegalese and African innov
 ators in Africa and innovators among the diaspora across the globe\n	Deplo
 y the Grand Challenges funding model in Africa\, with a particular focus o
 n the ECOWAS region\n	Support the innovation pipeline from discovery to de
 velopment to deployment\n	Support existing grantees of Grand Challenges in
 itiatives in Africa\, particularly those supported by Grand Challenges Afr
 ica\, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation\, Grand Challenges Canada\, and 
 Grand Challenges for Development USAID\n\nPrinciples\n\n\n	Strategic and w
 ell-articulated grand challenges will serve both to focus research efforts
  and to engage Africa's best innovators.\n	Projects will be selected based
  on public\, transparent calls for proposals seeking the best ideas.\n	Fun
 ders\, investigators\, and other stakeholders will actively collaborate an
 d integrate advances to ensure these advances serve the most in need.\n	Pr
 ojects will be selected not only for scientific excellence\, but also for 
 their likelihood to achieve the desired impact.  They must be milestone-d
 riven and actively managed to that end.\n	Projects and investigators will 
 make equitable access commitments to ensure the fruits of their research a
 re available to those most in need.\n\nHow to apply\n\n\n	Applications mus
