DESCRIPTION:The goal of the Cogito Foundation is to encourage the dialogue
  between science and technology on one hand and humanities and the social 
 sciences\, on the other.\n\nThe Foundation supports events and activities 
 that aim at increasing the understanding of Scientific thinking and the sc
 ientific method among the public at large\, as well as congresses\, meetin
 gs and seminars.\nThe Foundation does not grant supplementary funding to S
 NF\, ERC or similar grants. Does not cover overheads nor infrastructure co
 sts.\n\nRestriction: does NOT cover additional costs of projects already f
 unded by SNSF\, ERC or similar national and international funding.\n\n	PUB
 LIC UNDERSTANDING OF SCIENCE\n\n\n\n	For what: Events and activities based
  in Switzerland. Does NOT cover translations\, printing costs and overhead
 s. The Foundation does NOT fund the dissemination of scientific results.\n
 	How much: based on approved projects\, min. CHF 2’000\, max. CHF 250’
 000\, average CHF 30’000.\n\n\n\n	CONGRESSES\n\n\n\n	For what: invite pr
 ominent speakers to congresses\, meetings\, seminars and the like.\n\n\n\n
 	How much: based on approved projects\, min. CHF 1’000\, max. CHF 100’
 000\, average CHF 15’000.\n\nDEADLINES: 1 May and 1 October (every year)
  at 1 p.m. CET.\nDecisions: end of June and beginning of December.\n\nAppl

 cument\, to info@cogitofoundation.ch. Guidelines for applicants are availa
 ble at this link.\n\nSelection process:\n\n\n	ELIGIBILITY CHECK: the execu
 tive committee of the Foundation Council checks if the application is in l
 ine with the goals of the Foundation and immediately informs the applicant
  if this is not the case.\n	EVALUATION: proposals passing the eligibility 
 check are submitted to the Foundation Council. The Decision is communicate
 d to the applicant within 2 months.\n\nFor further information\, please ha
