CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The aim of this call is to further develop and validate
established biomarkers for which there is a clear clinical need in Alzhei
mer's disease and related dementias. This call prioritizes biomarkers with
a defined context of use\, a clear advantage over other relevant biomarke
 rs\, and a path to commercialization and/or clinical use.\n\nSpecifically\
, this call focuses on:\n\n	developing novel PET ligands for clinical use\
n	supporting novel CSF biomarkers\n	Validating innovative MRI approaches i
n larger cohorts\n	Developing novel measures of functional activity such a
 s EEG\n\n\nNovel biomarkers of neuroinflammation\, synaptic integrity\, au
tophagy and TDP-43 are high priority. Other target areas of interest inclu
de:\n\n\n	Neuronal loss\n	Vascular injury and blood-brain barrier integrit
 y\n	Mitochondria and metabolic function\n	Protein misfolding\n	Oxidative s
tress\n	White matter changes\n	Lewy body dementia\n	Other novel targets su
pported by compelling biological rationale and connection to disease\n\n\n
 Funding:       max. $600\,000\n\nDuration:      1 year\n\nEligibi
lity: Funding is open to researchers and clinicians worldwide at academic
medical centers and universities or nonprofits. Industry partnerships are
encouraged.\n\nHow to Apply: Deadlines for proposal submissions occur thre
e times per year. Applications are reviewed in a two-step process: Letters
of Intent (LOIs) are the first step\, and should be submitted on the ADDF
Funding Portal. ADDF’s science team will evaluate LOIs to determine whe
ther the proposed project is consistent with the ADDF's mission and fundin
g priorities. LOI decisions will be sent within three weeks of submission.
Step 2 is an invited full proposal\, which should include a detailed proj
ect narrative\, budget and justification\, and biographical information.
When formulating the budget\, note that the following costs are not cover
 ed: Indirect costs/Overhead\, Publication costs\, Equipment\, and Travel.\
 n\nWinter Deadlines:              03-February-2023 (LOI)\n

          07-April-2023 (full proposal\, by invitation)\n\nSummer D
 eadlines:           19-May-2023 (LOI)\n
                                    28-Ju
 ly-2023 (full proposal\, by invitation)\n\nAutumn Deadlines:
     29-September-2023 (LOI)\n
                           01-December-2023 (full
 proposal\, by invitation\n\nFurther information\n\n\n	More information abo
