DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Drug Development call seeks to support in vivo prec
 linical studies that advance lead molecules developed for Alzheimer’s di
 sease and related dementias to IND-enabling studies. The proposed studies 
 should be structured to deliver a compound with strong potential for clini
 cal and commercial application.\n\nSpecifically\, the Drug Development cal
 l supports the following stages of discovery:\n\n	Early-stage human clinic
 al trials \n	Investigational new drug (IND)–enabling studies\n\n\nCurren
 t target areas of interest include:\n\n	Epigenetics\n	Inflammation\n	Mitoc
 hondria & metabolic function\n	Neuroprotection\n	Proteostasis\n	Synaptic a
 ctivity and neurotransmitters\n	Vascular function\n	Other mechanisms and m
 odes of action related to the biology of aging (e.g. senescent cells)\n	Ot
 her novel targets or pathways that are supported by compelling evidence de
 monstrating a rational biological connection to the disease process\n\n\nF
 unding:       max. $5\,000\,000\n\nDuration:      Multi-year\n\nE
 ligibility: Funding is open to researchers and clinicians worldwide at aca
 demic medical centers and universities or nonprofits. Industry partnership
 s are encouraged.\n\nHow to Apply: Deadlines for proposal submissions occu
 r three times per year. Applications are reviewed in a two-step process: L
 etters of Intent (LOIs) are the first step\, and should be submitted on th
 e ADDF Funding Portal. ADDF’s science team will evaluate LOIs to determi
 ne whether the proposed project is consistent with the ADDF's mission and 
 funding priorities. LOI decisions will be sent within three weeks of submi
 ssion. Step 2 is an invited full proposal\, which should include a detaile
 d project narrative\, budget and justification\, and biographical informat
 ion.  When formulating the budget\, note that the following costs are not
  covered: Indirect costs/Overhead\, Publication costs\, Equipment\, and Tr
