 quation methods are widely used numerical techniques for solving various e
 lectromagnetic scattering and radiation problems. These methods have the g
 reat benefit of efficiently modeling unbounded domains and in the case of 
 homogeneous or piece-wise homogeneous objects requiring only surface meshe
 s. However\, traditional integral equation methods and formulations often 
 lead to ill-conditioned matrix equations and are restricted to rather smal
 l size problems.\n \n In this presentation we review some of the most rece
 nt research results of our research group at the Aalto University\, Depart
 ment of Radio Science and Engineering\, in the electromagnetic integral eq
 uation methods. We consider\, for example\, broadband multilevel fast mult
 ipole algorithm for efficient solution of large scale problems\, Calderon 
 preconditioning for improving conditioning of ill-conditioned matrix equat
 ions\, and domain\n decomposition method based on the equivalence principl
 e for solving multi-scale problems.
