DESCRIPTION:Elia Bruè ( Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa)\nAbstract:\n\nT
he incompressible Navier-Stokes and Euler equations are fundamental for un
derstanding basic phenomena in fluid dynamics\, but many fundamental aspec
ts of these equations still need to be fully understood.\nIn particular\,
the question of well-posedness and uniqueness within physically relevant c
lasses of solutions is not entirely resolved.\nOf particular importance ar
e the class of Leray solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations and the clas
s of solutions to the 2d Euler equations with L^p vorticity.\nThis talk ou
tlines recent progress toward their understanding and discusses newly disc
overed nonunique solutions. \nIt is based on joint works with D. Albritto
 n and M. Colombo.
