DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Leading House ETH Zurich and the Japan Society for 
 the Promotion of Science (JSPS) jointly fund the exchange of early career 
 scientists between Japan and Switzerland.\n\nSwitzerland-​based research
 ers can apply to ETH Zurich (Leading House Asia) for a stay in Japan and J
 apanese researchers to JSPS for a stay in Switzerland.\n\nAmount: Grants w
 ill cover travel costs and a monthly living allowance for a research stay 
 at a Japanese university or research laboratory.\n\nDeadlines:\n- 1 Februa
 ry: Call Launch (12 pm)\n- 30 April: Application Deadline\n- May-​Septem
 ber: Review Process\n- 1 October: Earliest Start\n\nDuration: Research sta
 ys of 3–6 months in the partner country\n\nEligibility:  Doctoral stude
 nts (in exceptional cases also Master students and early career postdocto
 ral researchers) from Swiss universities\, universities of applied science
 s\, public research institutes are invited to apply. Please refer to the C
 all Guidelines on which nationalities and permanent residency holders are 
 eligible to apply. The call is open to all disciplines including social sc
 iences and humanities.\n\nHow to Apply:  The Switzerland-​based prospec
 tive applicant must apply to ETH Zurich as the Leading House Asia. The app
 lication must be submitted online with the following attachments in one si
 ngle pdf document (English).\nThe application shall include:\n\n	Research 
 plan\n	CV of the applicant (Switzerland-​based scholar)\n	Supporting let
 ter from the Switzerland-​based supervisor. Include: Stating that the ap
 plicant is scheduled to be awarded a PhD degree within two years from the 
 fellowship starting date.\n	Acceptance letter from the Japanese host\n	Any
  other supporting document(s)\n\nApplications that do not follow the instr
