DESCRIPTION:Aim:  This fellowship is for non-UK scientists who are at an 
 early stage of their research career and wish to conduct research in the U
 K.\nThis scheme is jointly run by the British Academy and the Royal Socie
 ty.\n \nResearch must be within the Royal Society’s remit of natural sc
 iences\, which includes but is not limited to biological research\, chemis
 try\, engineering\, mathematics and physics. For a full list\, please see 
 the breakdown of subject groups and areas supported by the Royal Society.
 \n\nAmount: £350\,000\, maximum value over 3 years\n\n	basic salary as se
 t by the host institution and associated on-costs \n	research expenses \
 n	relocation and visa costs for Newton International Fellows and their dep
 endents (partner and children). The total grant cap may be exceeded in ord
 er to cover relocation/visa costs if this is well justified in the applica
 tion.\n	estate costs and indirect costs \n\nThe funding will be provided 
 on a FEC basis as outlined in the Royal Society’s funding guidance. \nT
 he Newton International Fellowship is a flexible award. It can be held on 
 either a full-time or on a part-time basis for health reasons and caring r
 esponsibilities. There is also provision for maternity\, paternity\, share
 d parental leave\, adoptive or extended sick leave as well as financial su
 pport for childcare costs that arise from attending conferences and resear
 ch visits.\nSuccessful applicants may also be eligible to receive alumni f
 unding following completion of their fellowship to support networking acti
 vities with UK-based researchers.\n\nDeadline: 28 March 2023\n\nDuration: 
 3 years\n\nEligibility: \n\n\n	have a PhD\, or will have a PhD by the time
  the funding starts\n	have no more than seven years of active full-time po
 stdoctoral experience at the time of application (discounting career break
 s\, but including teaching experience and/or time spent in industry on res
 earch)\n	be working outside the UK\n	not hold UK citizenship\n	be competen
 t in oral and written English\n\nAll applications are developed with the s
 upport of a UK sponsor. The Sponsor should work with the lead applicant to
  develop the project proposal and should provide mentoring\, support and g
 uidance throughout the duration of the award. For full details of all elig
