DESCRIPTION:The Conference honors Alan Weinstein and his contributions to 
 mathematics. Weinstein has been one of the most influential figures in sym
 plectic geometry\, Poisson geometry\, and its connections with mathematica
 l physics and analysis in the past forty years. description Weinstein's fu
 ndamental contributions have shaped many areas of mathematics\, and have i
 nspired many others. This conference will be a forum to celebrate Alan Wei
 nstein's fundamental contributions to mathematics\, and to thank him for m
 any years of mentorship\; many of Weinstein's students and postdocs are no
 w established figures themselves. The conference features lectures in subj
 ects in which Weinstein has had a deep influence. Leading mathematicians w
 ill deliver lectures over a five day period. Funding is provided by a gene
 rous grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation\, by EPFL and by the
  Bernoulli Center.
