DESCRIPTION:The Swiss Foundation for Alcohol Research (SFAR)(link : https
://www.alcoholresearch.ch/en/1.html)\n\n	funds projects that promise to de
liver new insights in the general field of alcohol research\n	awards fundi
ng for scientific conferences\n	actively encourages research on neglected
fields\n	awards grants to promote talented young researchers\n\nPriority i
s given to applications that have practical relevance for Swiss public hea
lth in addition to their scientific value.\nThe Foundation Board is made u
p of representatives from the Federal Office of Public Health\, the Swiss
Alcohol Board\, the Federal Commission for Alcohol-Related Issues\, Addict
ion Switzerland and experts from various scientific disciplines\, e.g. med
icine\, psychology\, biology and sociology.\nThe Foundation offers the fol
lowing funding instruments:\n\n\n	Grants to researchers to conduct scienti
fic studies (max. CHF 70K per year). Note that for applications that use a
nimal experiments\, the relation to human biology must be explicitly demon
strated. Basic research using only animal experiments will not be consider
ed for funding.\n	Grants to university graduates (SNSF rates for 1 year).
Grants are awarded to university graduates\, usually up to 35 years old\,
provided their post-graduate study involves generating knowledge that can
conceivably be used in future alcohol research.\n	Funding for scientific c
onferences\, particularly coordination meetings (max. CHF 5-10K). Funding
can be awarded to conferences provided alcohol research is a central them
e of the conference and it has a link to Switzerland. The application must
state the specific purpose of the SFAR funding at the conference. The Fou
ndation does not provide deficiency guarantees for conferences.\n\nCall de
