DESCRIPTION:Prof. Shimon Kolkowitz\, University of Wisconsin-Madison\nThe
remarkable precision of optical atomic clocks offers sensitivity to new an
d exotic physics. In this talk I will explain the motivation and operating
principles of the multiplexed optical lattice clock\, which consists of t
wo or more clocks in one vacuum chamber. This miniature clock network enab
les us to bypass the primary limitations to typical atomic clock compariso
ns and achieve new levels of precision. I will present recent experimental
results in which we performed a novel\, blinded\, precision test of the g
ravitational redshift with an array of atomic ensembles spanning a total h
eight difference of 1 cm. Finally\, I will discuss the outlook for future
searches for new physics with our apparatus.
