DESCRIPTION:Aim:  Worldwide Cancer Research supports research that seeks 
 to answer the difficult questions in cancer biology through innovative and
  truly novel ideas that have the potential to revolutionize our understand
 ing of cancer and how to beat it.\n\nProject grants support basic\, fundam
 ental or translational research into the prevention\, diagnosis or treatme
 nt of cancer. No priority is given to any field of research within this\; 
 research that draws on epidemiological\, behavioral and clinical data to p
 rovide a starting point for a new avenue of research is welcome. Multidisc
 iplinary or discipline-hopping projects are encouraged where this helps st
 imulate innovation.\n\nThe proposed research should be a discrete\, hypoth
 esis-driven project\, achievable within the duration of the support reques
 ted.\n\nFunding:       max. £275’000\n\nDuration:      1-3 y
 ears\n\nEligibility: Tenured or tenure-track research group leaders are el
 igible to apply as PIs. Postdoctoral researchers with more than three year
 s of experience are also eligible\, assuming the head of their research gr
 oup applies as a co-applicant. They should come from recognized\, non-prof
 it research institutions.  \n\nHow to Apply: Detailed application instruc

 research consumables\, the salaries of research staff working directly on 
 the project\, travel to conferences\, and any essential services or small 
 pieces of specialist or unusual equipment. Applications must be approved b
