DESCRIPTION:The Nestlé Foundation for the Study of Problems of Nutrition 
 in the World was established in 1966 by a donation by the Nestlé Company 
 on the occasion of its centenary.\n\nThe Nestlé Foundation initiates and 
 supports research in human nutrition with public health relevance in low-i
 ncome and lower middle-income countries.\n\nAt present the Foundation's wo
 rk is primarily concerned with human nutrition research issues dealing wit
 h:\n\n	maternal and child nutrition\, including breastfeeding and compleme
 ntary feeding\,\n	macro- and micronutrient deficiencies and imbalances\,\n
 	interactions between infection and nutrition\, and\n	nutrition education 
 and health promotion.\n\n\nAll submitted grant projects must be accompanie
 d by the ethical approval for the study by all involved institutions.\n\nW
 ho can apply: The Foundation expects research proposals to be primarily th
 e initiative of local researchers from the developing countries. However t
 he Foundation will be inclined to consider favorably those applications jo
 intly made by scientists from developed countries with those from developi
 ng countries provided it is clear that the initiative will result in capac
 ity building and human resource development in the latter and the bulk of 
 the budget (at least 75%) is spent in the developing country.\n\nIntereste
 d scientists should first submit a “Letter of Intent” in which they de
 scribe very briefly the kind of project they would like to undertake\, inc
 luding an estimated budget. Instructions for the letter of intent are avai
 lable on the Foundation website at "Download application forms and reports
 ".\n\nFunding and Duration: max. USD 300’000 for 1 to 3 years duration (
 see the call website)\n\nDeadline for Letters of Intent: any time\nDeadlin
