DESCRIPTION:Dr Quansan Yang\nAbstract:\nMeeting the needs of time-varying 
 diseases and disorders in neural engineering requires the next generation 
 of bioelectronics to be adaptable over time. Bioresorbable electronics are
  uniquely positioned to provide compatible and dynamic interfaces to livin
 g tissues\, enabling diagnosis and treatment within clinically relevant ti
 meframes\, followed by controlled degradation and dissolution as a part of
  the metabolic cycle.\nIn this talk\, I will demonstrate how my research a
 dvances the field of bioresorbable electronics to make it from academic cu
 riosity to practical applications. Specifically\, I will discuss:\n\n	The 
 first bioresorbable micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) that enable hi
 ghly-integrated bioresorbable microchips.\n	A novel high-speed and high-th
 roughput manufacturing technology that makes bioresorbable electronics acc
 essible to our society.\n	A unique multi-functional bioresorbable material
  that facilitates seamless integration between bioelectronic systems and b
 iological tissues\,\n	Synergized strategies that address the demands of co
 mplicated medical applications\, including the creation of the first biore
 sorbable nerve cooling interfaces to alleviate nerve pain as an alternativ
 e to opioids.\n\n\nBio:\nQuansan Yang is currently a postdoctoral research
 er at the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT\, where he works in
  the labs of Prof. Edward S. Boyden and Prof. Peter T.C. So. He received h
 is Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2021\, 
 working with Prof. John A. Rogers\, where he advanced the field of bioelec
 tronics by leveraging his expertise in the principles and methodologies of
  electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Previously\, he obtain
 ed his B.S. degree in Engineering Mechanics from Tsinghua University in 20
 16 while researching solid-liquid interfaces. Dr. Yang actively collaborat
 es with companies\, including Fujikura and Edwards Lifesciences\, to empha
 size the societal impacts of his research. His contributions have been wid
 ely recognized\, and he has been selected for Forbes 30 Under 30 in Scienc
 e.\n
