 f integrated circuits today is probably the Internet-of-Things (IoT). Comb
 ining sensor nodes and wireless communication\, they are setting more and 
 more stringent requirements on their energy consumption. Together with wea
 rable and implanted devices\, they have become the primary drivers for the
  design of low-power analog and RF circuits. The implementation of increas
 ingly complex functions under highly constrained power and area budgets\, 
 while circumventing the challenges posed by advanced nanometer CMOS techno
 logies\, makes analog and RF circuit design ever more challenging. In this
  lecture we will show how simple device models combined with a systematic 
 design methodology can guide the analog designer through the design space 
 to reach the target specifications avoiding an extensive use of simulators
  often leading to an uncompetitive trial-and-error approach.\n\nShort biog
 raphy\nChristian Enz joined EPFL full-time in 2013 as full professor headi
 ng the Integrated Circuits Lab (ICLAB). From 2013 to July 2021 he was Dire
 ctor of the Institute of Microengineering (IMT) and of the EPFL campus in 
 Neuchâtel. Before joining EPFL full-time\, besides being an Adjunct Profe
 ssor\, he was VP at the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (
 CSEM) where he was heading the Integrated and Wireless Systems Division. P
 rior to joining CSEM\, he was Principal Senior Engineer at Conexant (forme
 rly Rockwell Semiconductor Systems)\, Newport Beach\, CA\, USA. His resear
 ch and teaching are mostly focused on the design of ultra low-power and lo
 w-noise analog and RF integrated circuits and semiconductor device modelin
 g. Together with E. Vittoz and F. Krummenacher he is the developer of the 
 EKV MOS transistor model which is used today by industry for the design of
  low-power analog integrated circuits. He is an IEEE Life Fellow and an in
 dividual member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW).
