DESCRIPTION:Google is committed to supporting efforts to combat climate ch
 ange across the world. The United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Cl
 imate Change (IPCC) has identified carbon removal as a way to limit global
  warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. Today\, there is a scarcity of mature tec
 hnologies with the requisite potential for scale. Google is looking to fun
 d and actively collaborate with the research community\, exploring opportu
 nities and pathways to reduce anthropogenic carbon through mechanisms of c
 arbon removal. These 2023 Google Carbon Removal Research Awards aim to fun
 d selected research efforts to better characterize and accelerate the deve
 lopment of new carbon removal approaches.\n\nAmount\n\n	Project specific\,
  budget justified in proposal\n\nNote: Funding can also be considered for 
 cloud credit availability for computational work on the Google Cloud Platf
