DESCRIPTION:\nThe Leukemia & Lymphoma Society\, Inc. (LLS) is a national v
 oluntary health agency dedicated to the conquest of hematologic malignanci
 es and relevant premalignant conditions. \n\nLLS supports talented blood 
 cancer researchers in the early phase of their careers through the Career 
 Development Program. CDP continues to provide a pool of dedicated research
 ers to advance the understanding and diagnosis of blood cancer\, as well a
 s the development of treatment and prevention options that will ultimately
  lead to a higher quality of life for blood cancer patients.\n\nThe progra
 m is sub-divided according to career progression:\n\nFellow Award\nFunding
 :       $210\,000\nDuration:       3 years\nEligibility:    
  High quality postdocs who have clearly demonstrated productivity and crit
 ical thinking in their graduate studies as well as in their short time as 
 a postdoc. Must have less than 3 years of postdoctoral research training b
 y the award start date.\n\nSpecial Fellow Award\nFunding:       $150
 \,000 - $225\,000\nDuration:       2-3 years\nEligibility:     Pos
 tdocs and instructors having between 3 and 5 years of postdoctoral researc
 h training by the award start date\, who have clearly demonstrated success
  in their current postdoctoral/instructor position\, and who need an addit
 ional 2-3 years of training to be competitive for an independent position.
 \n\nScholar Award\nFunding:       $600\,000\nDuration:       5 
 years\nEligibility:     Highly qualified investigators who have shown a
  capacity for independent\, sustained\, original investigation. Should hol
 d an independent\, tenure-track faculty-level position and must have subst
 antial research support awarded from a national agency.\n\n\nHow to Apply:
  The 3-stage application process begins with an eligibility check\, which 
 takes place on the LLS Research Portal at https://lls.fluxx.io/. The Eligi
 bility Phase requires completion of both the web form and the current elig
 ibility form\, which should be downloaded from the Project Document sectio
 n of the web form. Eligible applicants will be notified by LLS staff and i
 nvited to submit a Letter of Intent. LOIs can be submitted on the same por
 tal. If the LOI is approved\, the Applicant will be notified that he/she m
 ay proceed to the Full Application phase.  Signatures of the Applicant an
 d Sponsor Institution Officials are not required for submission of the LOI
 \, but are required for the full proposal\; please contact the Research Of
 fice for the signature of the Sponsor Institution Official. Applicants wil
