CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:Aim: The CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship Program support
s qualified young scientists at leading universities and research centers
around the world. The fellowships will support both computational biologis
ts who seek to strengthen their knowledge of immunology and cancer immunol
ogists who seek training in computational biology\, data science\, and/or
genomics under the mentorship of world-renowned scientists in these discip
lines. We will also consider applicants from diverse PhD fields who will t
rain at the interface of cancer immunology and computational biology. The
program is designed to train and equip the next generation of scientists w
ith the knowledge and practical tools to pursue novel research ideas bridg
ing immunology and computational biology.  \n\n The applicant should ma
ke every effort to demonstrate the potential of the proposed study to dire
ctly impact our understanding of the immune system’s role in cancer by l
everaging the use of innovative technologies and/or computational methods
including high throughput “omic” methods and data analyses. A successf
ul proposal will include how the project intends to address the current ga
 ps in cancer immunology.\n\nDuration:      3 years\n\nFunding:
    Year 1 - $74\,000 stipend\n
    Year 2 - $76\,000 stipend\n
    Year 3 - $78\,000 stipend\n
Each year - $5\,000 allowance for research or travel\n\nEligibility:\
n\n	Projects must be hypothesis-driven in basic or translational cancer im
munology or immunology.\n	Applicants must be working in areas directly rel
ated to immunology or cancer immunology. An eligible project must fall int
o the broad field of immunology with relevance to solving the cancer probl
em.\n	Applicant must hold a doctorate degree by the date of award activati
on\, but have no more than 5 years postdoctoral experience.\n	Applicant mu
st be sponsored by a senior researcher with a formal appointment at the ho
st institution.\n	The fellowship can be performed in the United States or
abroad\, but must take place at a non-profit institution.\n	There are no c
itizenship restrictions.\n\n\nHow to Apply: Proposal materials\, including
  an application form\, background statement\, CV\, research proposal\, and
supporting letters\, must be uploaded via the online portal. Note that th
e proposal must be approved and signed by the host institution\; please co
ntact the Research Office for assistance.\n\nApplication Deadline: 01 Sept
 ember 2023 (5:00 pm EST)\n\nFurther information\n\n\n	More information abo
