DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Alzheimer’s Association Research Fellowship award
  is intended to support exceptional researchers who are engaged in their p
 ost-graduate work (i.e. postdoctoral fellows) and before they have their f
 irst independent faculty positions (i.e. Assistant Professor) and working 
 in diverse areas of research\, including basic\, translational\, clinical\
 , functional and social-behavioral research. Investigators doing clinicall
 y-focused research without clinical practice are encouraged to apply to th
 is AARF program.\n\nFunding:       $200’000\n\nDuration:      3
  years\n\nEligibility: Individuals applying to the program will be accepte
 d from postdoctoral fellows with full time positions at their respective i
 nstitution who have less than 13 years of research experience after receip
 t of their doctorate or other terminal degree. Individuals who have a posi
 tion of an Assistant Professor or above are not eligible. The Principal In
 vestigator must commit to a 50% effort toward the proposed project each fu
 nding year. Each PI must list a mentor who will follow his/her project.\n\
 nThe sister program AARF-D is available for applicants who have been deter
 mined to be scientists from underrepresented groups in biomedical and beha
 vioral research on a national or institutional basis. For more guidance\, 
 see the 2023 program announcement.\n\nHow to Apply: The two-step submissio
 n process begins with a letter of intent\, which can be submitted on propo
 salCENTRAL. First-time users must register and fill out a Professional Pro
 file in proposalCENTRAL to begin the LOI/application process. If EPFL will
  serve as your host institution\, please use the following institution nam
 e in proposalCENTRAL: Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne EPFL. As 
 part of the LOI application\, you must submit a W-8-BEN-E tax form. Contac
 t the Research Office for assistance.\n\nSelected applicants will be reque
 sted to submit full applications. More details on required contents for fu
 ll proposals can be found on pages 15-16 of the 2023 program announcement.
  The application must include a two/three-page statement from the selected
  mentor that includes information on his or her research qualifications\, 
 experience as a research supervisor and commitment to the applicant. This 
 statement will be a significant part of the application review.\n\nDeadlin
