DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society\, Inc. (LLS) is a natio
 nal voluntary health agency dedicated to the conquest of hematologic malig
 nancies and relevant premalignant conditions. The Translational Research P
 rogram (TRP) was formed to enhance the transfer of basic research findings
  to clinical usefulness. The program supports research on novel approaches
  to the prevention\, diagnosis\, or treatment of hematological malignancie
 s and related pre-malignant conditions. Proposals should be based on molec
 ular\, cellular\, or integrated systems findings and be conceptually innov
 ative and with a clear plan for the eventual clinical translation of the s
 tudies proposed and the results expected.\n\nGeneral Topics of Particular 
 Interest:\n\n	Personalized medicine approach for cancer treatment.\n	Devel
 opment of novel therapies and/or novel therapeutic strategies\n	Improvemen
 ts in the safety and efficacy of stem cell transplantation\n	Long-term out
 come assessment following therapies\n	Pediatric research.\n	Cancer Cell/Mi
 croenvironment:\n\n\nFunding:       $750\,000\n\nDuration:      
 3 years\n\nEligibility:    The program welcomes applications from US cit
 izens and non-US citizens\, as well as applicants who are performing resea
 rch outside the United States. Applicants must hold a PhD\, MD\, DVM\, or 
 equivalent degree. Applicants must be independent investigators affiliated
  with a non-profit institution at the time funding commences and for the d
 uration of the award. Further\, they must be established investigators\, d
 efined as having more than 3 years in an independent faculty appointment a
 t the time of the Letter of Intent.\n\nHow to Apply: The 2-stage applicati
 on process begins with a Letter of Intent\, to be submitted on the LLS Res
 earch Portal at https://lls.fluxx.io/. All LOIs should provide brief proje
 ct information\, including a summary of project goals and brief administra
 tive details. All LOIs will be reviewed\, and those judged to be the most 
 promising\, competitive\, and responsive to the goals of the program will 
 be invited to submit a full application.  At the full application stage\,
  an Institutional signature is required\; please contact the Research Offi
 ce for this step. Applicants will be notified of the final outcomes by May
