DESCRIPTION:Dr. Teresa Pérez-Prado\, IMDEA\, Spain\nAdditive manufacturin
 g technologies allow exceptional design freedom\, part customization and c
 omponent lightweighting\, while facilitating the generation of unprecedent
 ed micro- and metastructures. This talk will further emphasize their poten
 tial as tools for sustainable manufacturing. Highlighted examples include 
 laser powder bed fusion of soft magnetic amorphous metals for efficient e-
 motors\, and of lattice structures with meta-precipitates with exceptional
  specific structural properties.\n\nBio: Dr. Teresa PÉREZ-PRADO\, Senior 
 Scientist\, heads since 2008 the Sustainable Metallurgy group at IMDEA Mat
 erials Institute. Teresa was Division Leader between 2014 and 2017 and Dep
 uty Director between 2017 and 2021. From 2018 to 2022 she coordinated the 
 programme on Structural Materials at the Spanish National Science Foundati
 on. Dr. Pérez-Prado got a PhD in Physics at the Complutense University in
  Madrid in 1998 and an MBA at INSEAD\, France\, in 2008. After a 2 year po
 stdoctoral stay at the University of California in San Diego\, USA\, she j
 oined the National Center for Metals Research (Madrid\, Spain) in 2001\, w
 here she worked as a tenure-track fellow until she was granted a Tenured S
 cientist position in 2004. Dr. Pérez-Prado has coauthored 145 papers (h 4
 8\,\n≈8700 citations (Google Scholar))\, 1 book (Elsevier\, 2004) and 3 
 patents. Teresa belongs to the Scientific Council of the Nomaten Center of
  Excellence (Poland)\, the IRT Jules Verne (France)\, the Henry Royce Inst
 itute (UK)\, and the European Space Agency (ESA).
