DESCRIPTION:Prof Teri W. Odom\, Northwestern\nAbstract: \n This talk wil
l describe how plasmonic nanoparticle lattices can function as versatile a
nd advantageous optical cavities for strong light-matter coupling. We will
discuss the formation of different types of exciton-polaritons depending
on the emissive material\, including fluorescent organic emitters in metal
 -organic frameworks\, 2D perovskites\, and semiconducting nanoplatelets. W
e will describe the different polariton dynamics in these systems and how
the lifetimes affect prospects for polariton lasing and condensation.\n\n\
nBiography: \nTeri W. Odom is the Joan Husting Madden and William H. Mad
den\, Jr. Professor of Chemistry and Chair of the Chemistry Department at
Northwestern University. She is an expert in designing structured nanoscal
e materials that exhibit extraordinary size and shape-dependent optical an
d physical properties.\n\nOdom is a Member of the National Academy of Scie
nces and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She is also a Fellow o
f the American Physical Society\, Materials Research Society\, Royal Socie
ty of Chemistry\, American Chemical Society\, American Institute of Medica
l and Biological Engineering\, Optica\, and the American Association for t
he Advancement of Science.  \n\nOdom is Editor-in-Chief of Nano Letters
