DESCRIPTION:Dr. Sugako Otani\, is a system and processor architect at Rene
 sas Electronics Corporation. Her current research focuses on application-s
 pecific architectures\, ranging from IoT devices to automotive. She joined
  Mitsubishi Electric Corporation\, Japan\, in 1995 after receiving an M.S.
  in physics from Waseda University\, Tokyo. She received a Ph.D. in Electr
 ical Engineering and Computer Science from Kanazawa University in 2015. Fr
 om 2005 to 2006\, she was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University. She i
 s a committee member of ISSCC\, VLSI Symposium\, and ESSCIRC. She is 2024 
 Program Co-Chair for VLSI Symposium. Since 2019\, she has been a Visiting 
 Associate Professor at Nagoya University\, Japan.\n\nProf. Makoto Ikeda\, 
 received his BE\, ME\, and PhD degrees all from Electrical Engineering of 
 the University of Tokyo\, in 1991\, 1993\, and 1996\, respectively\, He jo
 ined the University of Tokyo as a faculty member in 1996\, and is now full
  professor there. For past 26 years as a faculty member\, he belongs to El
 ectrical Engineering for education and research\, and VLSI Design and Educ
 ation Center for chip design platform activities for entire Japanese Unive
 rsities. His research interests including hardware security\, smart image 
 sensor designs\, and time-domain signal processing. He has been belonging 
 to numerous international conference activities\, including ISSCC\, for 18
 -year as committee member and ISSCC 2021 ITPC Chair\, VLSI Symposium for m
 ore than 24-year as committee member and 2017 Program Chair and 2019 Sympo
 sium Chair\, and A-SSCC from the beginning as committee member and 2015 Pr
 ogram Chair\, and many others. He served IEEE SSCS Distinguished Lecturer 
 in 2015 and 2016\, and one of Commemorative Lecturers for Transistor 75th 
 Anniversary this year. He is a Senior member of IEEE.\nWe are pleased to h
 ost two of the top scientists from Japan active in the field of electronic
 s\, who will give talks as distinguished speakers of the Solid-State Circu
 its Society (SSCS). This event is sponsored by SSCS and IEEE.\n\nAutomotiv
 e System Design\nThe automotive industry is in the midst of a significant 
 transformation. “CASE: Connected\, Autonomous\, Shared & Service\, Elect
 ric” has been advocated as a trend. Along with this trend\, automotive E
 /E (Electrical/Electronic) architecture will evolve from the current distr
 ibuted architecture to a domain architecture and then to the future zone a
 rchitecture in the autonomous driving era. The lecture introduces the requ
 irement of automotive system design for in-vehicle devices and their key t
 echnologies\, including processors for the infotainment system and advance
 d vehicle control. The lecture also covers automotive functional safety.\n
 \nHardware acceleration of functional encryption and its security measure\
 nThis talk will introduce basics of elliptic curve-based encryption algori
 thms\, and discuss on optimization of their hardware implementation\, incl
 uding\, algorithm selection\, architecture\, scheduling\, and measured res
 ults. This talk will also cover applications to functional encryption acce
 leration\, such as attribute-based encryption\, and also cover hardware ac
 celeration of post-quantum encryption. In addition\, security measures of 
 such functional encryption will be also discussed.\n
