DESCRIPTION:Workshops: \nThe Brocher Foundation is inviting junior and sen
 ior researchers to submit proposals for a 2 to 3-day multidisciplinary wor
 kshop project on the Ethical\, Legal and Social Implications of new medica
 l developments to be hosted at the Brocher Foundation.\n\nThe workshop may
  host up to  21 participants.\nIf the submitted proposal is selected for 
 implementation by the Brocher Foundation Scientific\, the foundation will:
 \n\n	offer a grant of up to CHF 6\,000 to cover the travel expenses of 12 
 participants (6 of whom must come from Europe).\n	provide accommodation a
 nd catering during the workshop for up to 21 participants for 2 or 3 night
 s (depending on the approved length of the workshop).\n	provide a fully e
 quipped conference room\n	The Foundation may also contribute up to CHF 2\
 ,000 to support a publication resulting from the workshop\, (see foundatio

 e Brocher Foundation offers visiting Researchers the opportunity of a stay
  at the foundation\, to write a book\, articles\, an essay or a Ph.D. thes
 is. residencies are an occasion to meet other researchers from different d
 isciplines and countries as well as experts from numerous International Or
 ganizations & Non Governmental Organizations based in Geneva\, such as WHO
 \, WTO\, WIPO\, UNHCR\, ILO\, WMA\, ICRC\, and others.\n\nScope: \nEthical
 \, Legal & Social Implications of recent medical research and new medical 
 technologies:\n Bioethics\, Medical Anthropology\, Health Economics\, Hea
 lth Policy\, Health Law\, Philosophy of Medicine and Health\, Medical Huma
 nities\, Social Science Perspectives on Health\, Medical Ethics\, History 
 of medicine. Equitable access to medical care\, Biobanks\, Biosecurity and
  Dual-Use Dilemmas\, Clinical Trials and Research on Human Subjects\, Gene
 tic testing and screening\, Health Care Reform\, Nanotechnology\, Neglecte
 d diseases\, Pandemic planning\, Reproductive technology\, Stem Cells and 
 Cell Therapy\, Organ transplantation\, Telemedicine\, Neurosciences\, Synt
 hetic Biology.\nEligibility:\n\n\n	Researchers: Ph.D. students to Professo
 rs\, who wish to develop projects on the ethical\, legal and social implic
 ations for humankind of recent medical research and new technologies.  Re
 searchers can also apply with one or two other Researchers to work on a co
 llaborative project.\n	“Additional scholarship for Junior Researchers”
  available: applicant should be a Ph.D. student or should have obtained hi
 s PhD degree within a maximum of five years and should not perceive any ot
 her income during the time spent at the Foundation.\n	Applications from lo
