DESCRIPTION:EPFL promotes the unrestricted sharing of research findings by
  its scholars\, aligning with its commitment to Open Science. Within the C
 enter for Digital Education\, we are of the opinion that Open Education ha
 s the potential to contribute significantly to Open Science. Through (vide
 o) lectures and (interactive) exercises\, we can effectively disseminate t
 he insights gained from scientific research\, enabling researchers to acqu
 ire the skills and knowledge needed to utilise open data sets and tools. F
 urthermore\, we are confident that\, given the current technological lands
 cape\, a substantial portion of our educational activities can easily exte
 nd beyond traditional classroom settings with minimal additional effort. T
 his is why we advocate for the accessibility of publicly funded education 
 to the broader public.\n \nThis hybrid workshop will demonstrate Open E
 ducation and open a discussion on how you can open up your teaching materi
 als\, including videos\, quizzes\, slides\, and other resources\, by lice
 nsing them under Creative Commons. We will cover legal and technical consi
 derations\, using third-party materials\, quality management and maintenan
 ce of open resources\, and adopting interoperable formats\, among other to
 pics.\n\nWe encourage you to bring your own course materials - start with 
 your MOODLE page\, or your mediaspace.epfl.ch channel - to discover the di
 fference between viewing rights and copyrights\, what to consider when sel
 ecting a CC license\, etc.\n\n
