DESCRIPTION:Aim: The Simons Collaboration on the Global Brain (SCGB) Tra
 nsition to Independence (TTI) program engages talented early-career scient
 ists from diverse and/or historically underrepresented backgrounds to purs
 ue research in systems and computational neuroscience and facilitates thei
 r transition into independent faculty positions at research institutions w
 ithin or outside the U.S.\n\nThe Program welcomes applications from scient
 ists planning to do work consistent with SCGB’s scientific mission\, sp
 ecifically investigating large-scale circuits at single-cell resolution to
  understand neural dynamics and coding. Applicants are required to focus t
 heir scientific proposal on their plans for their future lab and independe
 nt research program\, not the remainder of their postdoctoral position.\n\
 nIndependence Fellows will be provided with up to five years of support\, 
 split into two awards: 1) Postdoctoral Award (for a maximum of two years)\
 , and 2) Faculty Research Award (for three years).\n\nDuration:      5
  years\n\nFunding:       max. $790\,000\n\nEligibility: The program i
 s aimed at Ph.D. and/or M.D.-holding scientists from diverse and/or histor
 ically underrepresented groups in science (examples here) who are currentl
 y in a non-independent\, mentored training position at an institution with
 in or outside the U.S. and who will be actively seeking and applying to te
 nure-track faculty positions between September 2024–May 2025. Independen
 ce Fellows are expected to apply\, secure and transition to a tenure-track
  faculty position at a research institution within or outside the U.S. by 
 the end of the 2025–2026 academic year.\nThere are no citizenship requir
