DESCRIPTION:As part of “PAV Living Room”\, we ask ourselves together w
 ith the students of the EPFL if there can be an alternative future for the
  Drize\, one in which the leaking river creates new ecosystems\, infiltrat
 es our domestic space\, or becomes a new source of energy. What if we star
 t looking at what we have and try to grasp the multi-layered past of this 
 site\, its complex ecology\, and build on it instead of erasing it? \n\nT
 racing the riverbeds of the past\, the current tunnels\, the various uncer
 tain futures and potential floods of the Drize\, the PAV turns into its ne
 w delta\, where a car wash\, a pumping station or a bathroom shop become c
 lues for a new storyline. One where the river pours out of its tunnels\, d
 raws itself on and through the existing architecture\, following its own l
 ogic. Like cyclical tales\, the existing buildings will take on the role o
 f alchemists. They will cultivate a new understanding of the fragility of 
 water. We no longer resist the leaks but aim to develop an architecture th
 at has the capacity to evolve and intrinsically absorb change. Water no lo
 nger just flows from taps and sprinklers but begins to flow from the walls
  surrounding it. \n\nTo bring this fiction to life and change the percept
 ion of the PAV\, the students will perform a series of performances that r
 emind us of the forgotten river. A first act for a different future where
