DESCRIPTION:Aim: The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation (BBRF) is the wo
 rld’s largest private funder of mental health research grants. BBRF awar
 ds research grants to develop improved treatments\, cures\, and methods of
  prevention for mental illness.\nBBRF funds the most innovative ideas in n
 euroscience and psychiatry to better understand the causes and develop new
  ways to effectively treat brain and behavior disorders. These illnesses i
 nclude addiction\, ADHD\, anxiety\, autism\, bipolar disorder\, borderline
  personality disorder\, depression\, eating disorders\, OCD\, PTSD\, schiz
 ophrenia\, as well as research in suicide prevention. BBRF’s Distinguish
 ed Investigator Grant program supports basic and/or clinical investigators
  and is designed to stimulate the development of key personnel and resourc
 es\, to facilitate the rapid initiation of research in innovative areas\, 
 and to enable investigators to create unique scientific opportunities.\nTr
 ans-diagnostic designs involving several disorders are welcome. Some disor
 ders such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease are supported by 
 BBRF but only if primary psychiatric disorders listed above are included i
 n the research design and the proposal emphasizes the work’s impact on o
 ur understanding of brain and behavior disorders.\n\nDuration:      
   1 year\n\nFunding:         $ 100\,000\n\nEligibility: Applicants
  must be a full professor (or equivalent)\, and maintain peer reviewed com
 petitively funded scientific programs.\n\nHow to Apply: Applications shoul
 d be submitted online and must include the following: face sheet\, descrip
 tion of the project\, list of key personnel (incl. PI)\, budget\, list of 
 other funding sources\, and description of lab resources and environment.
