DESCRIPTION:Aim:  The Microsoft Research AI & Society fellows program aim
 s to catalyze research collaboration between Microsoft Research and eminen
 t scholars and experts across a range of disciplines core to discussions a
 t the intersection of AI and its impact on society. Through a global\, ope
 n call for proposals targeting a specific set of research challenges\, Mic
 rosoft will facilitate strategic collaborations\, catalyze new research id
 eas\, and contribute publicly available works to benefit scholarly discour
 se and benefit society more broadly.\n\nThe details of the program vary by
  research challenge. Please review the “Research Challenges” for more 
 information and eligibility.\n\nFunding:       varies by region\n\nDu
 ration:      12 months\n\nEligibility: To be eligible to apply\, candi
 dates will be required to confirm they are actively pursuing (enrolled in 
 program) or have already earned their terminal degree in their respective 
 field or discipline.\n\nHow to Apply: All proposals should be submitted vi
 a the submission portal. Each submission will include:\n\n	Candidate infor
 mation (region\, institution\, research/work focus\, etc.)\n	“Statement 
 of Interest” title (80 characters or less)\n	Submission of a “Statemen
 t of Interest” document.\n	\n		This document should be 3 pages (or less)
  in length\, which may include appendix and citations if applicable.\n		Se
 e additional instructions and guidance in the “Statement of Interest Req
 uirements” section here.\n	\n	\n	Candidate CV/resume\n\nFunding amounts 
 vary by the region a fellows’ organization/institution of employment is 
 located in. Please do not add additional requests for budget\, as these wi
