DESCRIPTION:Jan Hesthaven\, Sofia Olhede\, Jerome Waser\, Daniel Probst\nJ
oin us for an engaging  discussion on the future of research assessment i
n the context of Open Science.\n\nEPFL has previously committed to the San
Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA)\, setting forth princ
iples and guidelines for the evaluation of scientific research. While it m
arked an important step for many institutions\, DORA's impact on instituti
onal evaluation methods is not always clear.\n\nWith principles of Open Sc
ience gaining momentum\, there is a growing recognition that research asse
ssment should encompass a wider range of contributions by researchers in h
iring and promotion processes.\n\nAs EPFL prepares to join the internation
al Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA)\, we're seeking you
r insights and perspectives on the best way to get involved. CoARA is an i
nternational collaborative effort that provides a platform for scientists
from diverse backgrounds to collectively reshape how research is assessed
within their disciplines\, institutions\, and on a global scale.\n\nOur ev
ent will take the form of an interactive town hall with a roundtable discu
ssion featuring: \n- Prof. Sofia Olhede\, Head of the Committee for Acade
mic Evaluation of EPFL\n- Prof. Jan Hesthaven\, Vice-President for Academi
c Affairs\n- Prof. Jérôme Waser\, Member of the Open Science Strategic C
ommittee\n- Dr. Daniel Probst\, Postdoctoral researcher in STI\n\nWe aim t
o create a space for dialogue - so come and share your thoughts in our col
lective effort to improve the evaluation of scientific research.\n\nRegist
