DESCRIPTION:Dr. Eliezer Van Allen\, MD\, Associate Professor of Medicine\,
  Harvard Medical School\, Boston\, Massachusetts\, USA - Clinical Computat
ional Oncology. Chief of Division of Population Sciences\, Dana-Farber Can
cer Institute\, and Institute Member\, the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvar
d\nA Lola and John Grace Distinguished Lecture in Cancer Research\nAs both
a medical oncologist and computational biologist\, Dr Eliezer Van Allen d
evelops algorithms to dissect high-dimensional data directly from cancer p
atients and uses these insights to address major open questions in the fie
ld. Dr. Van Allen’s research has led to significant advances in understa
nding the molecular origins of cancer\, using artificial intelligence to d
iscover novel resistance mechanisms to cancer therapies\, and defining how
genomics can guide clinical decision-making. Through these initiatives\,
he created the field of clinical computational oncology to advance and ena
ble precision cancer medicine worldwide. Originally from Los Angeles\, CA\
, Dr. Van Allen studied Symbolic Systems at Stanford University\, obtained
his M.D. from UCLA\, and completed a residency in internal medicine at UC
SF before coming to Boston and completing a medical oncology fellowship at
  the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center program.
