DESCRIPTION:The ADDF seeks to support studies of cognitive symptoms due to
  health conditions\, comparative effectiveness research\, and epidemiologi
 cal studies that probe whether the use or choice of drugs alters the risk 
 for dementia or cognitive decline.\n\nSpecifically\, the Prevention Pipeli
 ne RFP supports:\n\n	Studies of Cognitive Decline and Risk Reduction\n	Com
 parative Effectiveness Research\n	Studies Leveraging the Consortium of Coh
 orts for Alzheimer's Prevention Action (CAPA)\n\n\nCurrent target areas of
  interest include:\n\n	Epigenetics\n	Inflammation\n	Mitochondria & metabol
 ic function\n	Neuroprotection\n	Proteostasis\n	Synaptic activity and neuro
 transmitters\n	Vascular function\n	Other mechanisms and modes of action re
 lated to the biology of aging (e.g. senescent cells)\n	Other novel targets
  or pathways that are supported by compelling evidence demonstrating a rat
 ional biological connection to the disease process\n	Anti-amyloid approach
 es (e.g.\, anti-amyloid aggregation\, beta-amyloid vaccines\, beta- or gam
 ma-secretase inhibitors) and cholinesterase inhibitor proposals will not b
 e considered\n\n\nFunding:\nMax. $5\,000\,000 for clinical trials based on
  stage and scope of research\n\nDuration: Multi-year\n\nEligibility:\nFund
 ing is open to researchers and clinicians worldwide at academic medical ce
 nters and universities or nonprofits.\n\nHow to Apply:\nDeadlines for prop
 osal submissions occur three times per year. Applications are reviewed in 
 a two-step process: Letters of Intent (LOIs) are the first step\, and shou
 ld be submitted on the ADDF Funding Portal. ADDF’s science team will eva
 luate LOIs to determine whether the proposed project is consistent with th
 e ADDF's mission and funding priorities. LOI decisions will be sent within
  three weeks of submission. Step 2 is an invited full proposal\, which sho
 uld include a detailed project narrative\, budget and justification\, and 
 biographical information.  When formulating the budget\, note that the fo
 llowing costs are not covered: Indirect costs/Overhead\, Publication costs
