nNICOLAS DÉTRIE & KLAUS OVERMEYER\n\n\nAbout Urban & Envi
ronmental Theory Session\nOrganized in the framework of the MAS in Urban
and Territorial Design\, the sessions see invited guests address the theme
of the semester: “Counterprojects of Coexistence”. The sessions\, off
ering a combination of theoretical positions and professional design exper
ience\, address the challenges of spatial\, social and energy transition
through various contributions: from human geography\, urban studies\, sp
atial design\, environmental studies and system thinking. Ranging in scal
e from the global to the local\, focusing on the urban commons and ecologi
cal transition\, each session sees the guests present their work followed
by a moderated discussion together and with the audience.\n\n\nHow to tran
 sform cities together\nKlaus Overmeyer\n \nMore than ever\, cities today
are confronted with significant changes: climate change\, migration\, demo
graphic shifts\, mobility transitions\, resource scarcity. A grand plan no
longer serves us in this situation. We need a shared compass on how to li
ve better with fewer resources. Thinking big with bottom-up strategies can
  help propel us into action.\n\n
