  Urban & Environmental Theory Session\nOrganized in the framework of the
  MAS in Urban and Territorial Design\, the sessions see invited guests ad
 dress the theme of the semester: “Counterprojects of Coexistence”. The
  sessions\, offering a combination of theoretical positions and profession
 al design experience\, address the challenges of spatial\, social and en
 ergy transition through various contributions: from human geography\, urb
 an studies\, spatial design\, environmental studies and system thinking. 
 Ranging in scale from the global to the local\, focusing on the urban comm
 ons and ecological transition\, each session sees the guests present their
  work followed by a moderated discussion together and with the audience.\n
 \n\nAbout the Speakers\n\nANGELOS VARVAROUSIS\nAngelos Varvarousis (b. 198
 3) lives and works in Athens and Barcelona. He is a researcher\, curator a
 nd activist with a background in urban studies\, human geography\, and urb
 an political ecology. His view on the commons is rather unconventional\, 
 since he focuses more on temporary experiences of commoning\, investigatin
 g their liberating and transformative potential. In order to explain such 
 moments of transgression and change\, he is developing the framework of 
 “liminal commons\,” in which he draws parallels between the archaic ri
 tuals of transition and the collective practices that develop in contempor
 ary crisis-driven societies. Angelos is a passionate photographer\, dancer
  and musician and he spends at least two months per year off-the-grid on r
 emote Greek islands.\n\nLOUIS DESTOMBES\nBellastock is an architecture pra
 ctice engaged in the promotion of reuse for more than 10 years. Through t
 he history of two long term experiments on concrete reuse led in the conte
 xt of urban renewal projects\, Louis Destombes showcase the cultural and s
 ocio-economical impacts of a reuse practice settled up from the field\, by
  opposition of top down circular economy strategies.
