 rithms used in diagnosis and prognosis of precision oncology must be expla
 inable. In the wake of AI and ML powered diagnostics and medical devices\,
  one of the biggest challenges today of utilizing AI in clinical practice 
 is the reluctance of physicians to adopt something they do not understand 
 and often regard as a black box.\n\nBio:\nOlivier Michielin obtained a Mas
 ters of Physics in 1991 at the EPFL\, Lausanne\, and a Medical Degree from
  the University of Lausanne (UNIL) in 1997. He pursued his PhD training un
 der the supervision of Jean-Charles Cerottini (Ludwig Institute for Cancer
  Research\, Lausanne) and Martin Karplus (Harvard and Strasbourg Universit
 ies\, Chemistry Nobel Prize Laureate 2013). He was appointed Group Leader 
 of the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics in 2002 and became an Assistant P
 rofessor at the Medical Faculty at UNIL in 2004. In parallel\, he trained 
 as medical oncologist and obtained his board certification in 2007 at the 
 Department of Oncology of the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). Prof. M
 ichielin's main focus is on translational and precision oncology\, develop
 ing new molecularly defined therapeutic approaches based on original bioin
 formatics techniques developed in his laboratory\, as well as precision on
 cology programs based on multi-omics strategies and data science at the na
 tional level. Prof. Olivier Michielin currently serves as Chair of the Dep
 artment of Oncology and the Precision Oncology Service at the Geneva Unive
 rsity Hospital (HUG)\; he is also Head of the Precision Oncology Center at
  CHUV and co-Director of the Swiss Cancer Center Léman (SCCL) in Lausanne
 .
