\n\nOrder exists and patterns emerge in seemingly chaotic structures. Th
is phenomenon is the focus of Ramsey theory. This field is named after the
mathematician and philosopher Frank P. Ramsey\, who proved in 1930 that i
f n is a positive integer\, then every sufficiently large graph contains n
vertices that induce either a complete or an empty sugraph. I will talk a
bout how this result applies and how it can be strengthened in a geometric
setting\, where we consider intersection patterns of geometric shapes.\n
