CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:CALL 1. Team Science Award (TSA) on Advancing Therapies Toward
s Curing Oncogene-Driven Lung Cancers\n\nAim: Work supported through this
mechanism should address important mechanistic questions and developmental
therapeutics across the care continuum and have the immediate potential t
o increase survivorship. Given the specific interest in the development of
novel therapies that could benefit this group of patients in the relative
ly near-term\, a clinical trial must either be initially incorporated into
the project or be an immediate result of the outcome of the research. It
is expected that a program of correlative\, translational research will be
proposed that will enhance the understanding of these oncogenic-driven lu
 ng cancers.\n\nDuration:      48 months\n\nFunding:       $2\,500
\,000\n\nEligibility:    International teams are encouraged and there ar
e no citizenship requirements. Eligible teams must be comprised of indepen
dent faculty-level researchers providing complementary interdisciplinary e
xpertise. The proposal must have a program of 2-3 projects. These projects
must be closely integrated and should consist of clinical\, basic and/or
translational work. For full details\, eligibility criteria\, and applicat
ion instructions\, please refer to the request for proposals.\n\nMore info
rmation about the program is available here.\n          \nCALL 2.
Minority Career Development Award in Lung Cancer\n\nAim: As minority appl
icants must overcome systemic and structural barriers due to race\, ethnic
 ity\, country of origin\, socioeconomic status\, and/or language\, many le
ave academia which further exacerbates the lack of diversity in Science\,
Technology\, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and medical fields. To pro
vide protected time and mentoring to these trainees\, LCRF funds the Mino
rity Career Development Award (CDA) for Lung Cancer. Applications can over
  a wide range of topics. \n\nDuration:      24 months\n\nFunding:
       $150\,000\n\nEligibility:    Minority postdoctoral/clinical f
ellows and assistant professors within 10 years of completing their MD and
/or PhD degrees. For complete details\, eligibility criteria\, and applica
tion instructions\, please refer to the request for proposals.\n\nMore inf
ormation about the program is available here.\n          \nCALL 3
: Leading Edge Research Grant Program\n\nAim: The LCRF Leading Edge Resea
rch Grant Program aims to fund innovative projects across the full spectru
 m of basic\, translational\, clinical\, epidemiological\, health services\
, early detection\, disparities\, and social determinants of health resear
ch. Applications can cover a wide range of topics.\n\nDuration:
  24 months\n\nFunding:       $150\,000\n\nEligibility:    There are
no citizenship requirements. Candidates should be post-doctoral researche
rs\, clinical fellows\, or early- and mid-career investigators with less t
han 10 years’ experience since their initial faculty appointment. \n\nM
ore information about the program is available here.\n\nCALL 4 : Research
Grant on Early Detection and Pre-Neoplasia in Lung Cancer\n\nAim: Given th
e significance and need for early detection of lung cancer and advancement
s in molecular screening\, LCRF continues to offer a funding mechanism to
support research projects that facilitate or advance the understanding and
characterization of pre-neoplasia or approaches for early detection of lu
ng cancer. Work supported through this mechanism addresses important ques
tions in non-small cell and small cell lung cancer. This funding mechanism
is focused on identifying\, characterizing\, and developing approaches an
d techniques that will allow early detection and/or risk reduction of lung
cancer and gaining insight into pre-neoplastic processes in the lungs. Th
e goal is to detect lung cancer at the earliest stages and subsequently in
 crease survival and survivorship. \n\nDuration:      24 months\n\nFun
ding:       $150\,000\n\nEligibility:    There are no citizenship r
equirements. Candidates should be post-doctoral researchers\, clinical fel
lows\, or early- and mid-career investigators with less than 10 years’ e
xperience since their initial faculty appointment. \n\nMore information a
bout the program is available here.\n\nCALL 5 : Research Grant on Understa
nding Resistance in Lung Cancer\n\nAim: This grant mechanism focuses on un
derstanding the development\, prevention\, and therapy of resistance by su
pporting research projects that are identifying\, characterizing\, treatin
g\, or preventing resistance to therapies in lung tumor cells\, tissues\,
mouse models\, and/or patients. Work supported through this mechanism will
address important mechanistic questions and developmental therapeutics ac
ross histological subtypes of lung cancer (including lung adenocarcinoma\,
squamous cell carcinoma and small cell lung cancer) and across the care c
ontinuum including newly designed targeted therapies and immunotherapies.
These studies will enhance the momentum of improving lung cancer outcomes
and have the potential to increase survivorship.\n\nDuration:      24
 months\n\nFunding:       $150\,000\n\nEligibility:    There are no
citizenship requirements. Candidates should be post-doctoral researchers\,
clinical fellows\, or investigators with less than 10 years’ experience
since their initial faculty appointment.\n\nMore information about the pr
ogram is available here\n\nHow to Apply:\n\nApplications should be submitt
ed through the online platform ProposalCentral.\n\nAll applications will b
e evaluated using a two-stage review process that includes review of lette
rs of intent and select full proposals. Only applicants whose LOI is revie
wed favorably will be invited to submit a full proposal. A ‘Letter of Su
pport’ will be required at full proposal stage\, please reach out to the
ReO for assistance with this.\n\nApplication Deadline:
    04 March 2024 for all Programs\n\nFurther information\n\n	Application
portal can be found here\n\nFor any other questions\, please contact the
 Research Office.
