 y\, Sweden\nAbstract\nLens antennas are commonly englobed in a more genera
 l type of antennas\, named aperture antennas. As their name indicates\, th
 ey make use of a lens to modify the field distribution at the aperture of 
 the antenna\, which is typically fed by a single source. The lens is emplo
 yed to transform the waves arriving from the source into a desired radiati
 on pattern. Commonly\, the desired radiation pattern is a directive beam i
 n a given direction. However\, similar to arrays\, reflectors or leaky wav
 e antennas\, the goal changes depending on the application. For example\, 
 other desired features may be to produce multiple beams\, or a broad beam-
 width.In this talk\, Prof. Quevedo-Teruel will explain the fundamental ope
 ration of lens antennas in the microwave regime\, and we will go through t
 he recent trends and their potential use for 5G/6G and satellite communica
 tions.\n\nBiography\nOscar Quevedo-Teruel received his Telecommunication E
 ngineering and Ph.D. Degrees from Carlos III University of Madrid\, Spain 
 in 2005 and 2010. From 2010-2011\, he joined the Department of Theoretical
  Physics of Condensed Matter at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid as a resear
 ch fellow and went on to continue his postdoctoral research at Queen Mary 
 University of London from 2011-2013. In 2014\, he joined the KTH Royal Ins
 titute of Technology (Stockholm\, Sweden)\, where he is presently a Full P
 rofessor in the Division of Electromagnetic Engineering and Fusion Science
 . He is also the Responsible for the Antenna Laboratory and Director of th
 e Master Programme in Electromagnetics Fusion and Space Engineering.\n\nHe
  was an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagat
 ion (IEEE TAP) since 2018-2022\, and he acts as Track Editor in IEEE TAP s
 ince 2022. He was a distinguished lecturer of the IEEE Antennas and Propag
 ation Society for the period of 2019-2022. He is an IEEE Fellow for his co
 ntributions to glide symmetry based metasurfaces and lens antennas. He has
  been a member of the European Association on Antennas and Propagation (Eu
 rAAP) Board of Directors since January 2021. Since January 2022\, he is th
 e vice-chair of EurAAP. He is the co-author of more than 140 papers in int
 ernational journals and more than 240 at international conferences.\n\n
