DESCRIPTION:The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation is the largest non-go
 vernment\, donor-supported organization that distributes funds for psychia
 tric brain and behavior disorder research. The Foundation’s BBRF Young I
 nvestigator Grant (YI) program offers up to $35\,000 a year for up to two 
 (2) years to enable promising investigators to either extend their researc
 h fellowship training or to begin careers as independent research faculty.
 \nThe program is intended to facilitate innovative research opportunities 
 and supports basic\, as well as translational and/or clinical investigator
 s. All research must be relevant to our understanding\, treatment\, and pr
 evention of serious psychiatric disorders such as: schizophrenia\; bipolar
 \; mood and anxiety disorders or early onset brain and behavior disorders.
 \n\nDuration:        1-2 years\n\nFunding:       $35\,000/year\
 n\nEligibility: Applicant must hold a doctoral level degree and already be
  employed in research training\, or be in a faculty research position. The
  YI Grant is intended to support advanced post-doctoral fellows\, instruct
 ors and assistant professors (or equivalent). The applicant must have an o
 n-site mentor /senior collaborator who is an established investigator in a
 reas relevant to psychiatric disorders. They may apply up to twice for thi
 s award and may not hold this award more than two times. Only one principa
 l investigator is allowed per application.\n\nHow to Apply: Applications a
