DESCRIPTION:Prof. Dr. Jakob Bush\, GSK\nAdvances in genomic analyses enabl
e the identification of proteins that are associated with disease. In orde
r to validate these targets for prioritisation in drug discovery programme
s\, tool molecules are required to demonstrate that a ligand can have a di
sease-modifying effect. Currently\, as tools are reported for only a fract
ion of the proteome\, platforms for expedient ligand discovery are essenti
al to leverage insights from genomic analyses. The use of electrophilic fr
agment libraries has emerged within chemical biology as a powerful approac
h for the identification of fragment–protein interactions\, particularly
  in a cellular context.
