DESCRIPTION:Postdoctoral Fellowship \nFunding for young researchers in the
 ir final stages of mentored training. The award provides salary support fo
 r a young scientist to conduct postdoctoral studies in an established labo
 ratory focused on research contributing to understanding the biological ca
 uses and/or new clinical treatment of macular degeneration and should also
  serve as the basis for the applicant's own independent research career.\n
 \nDuration:     2 years\n\nFunding:       $100\,000/year\n\nEligib
 ility: Applicants must hold an MD\, PhD\, DVM\, DO\, OD or equivalent degr
 ee received no more than four years before the time of application. For cl
 inician scientists\, this application should be submitted within two years
  of completion of their final clinical training.\n\nNew Investigator Grant
  \nFunding to support investigators during their early years as an indepen
 dent investigator involved in studies that have an impact on the causes an
 d/or treatment of macular degeneration.\n\nDuration:     max. 3 years\n
 \nFunding:       $150\,000/year\n\nEligibility: Applicants must be ne
 w or early investigators and have received their MD\, PhD or equivalent de
 gree within the past 10 years at the time of application. The applicant mu
 st serve as the Principal Investigator (PI) on the project and have indepe
 ndent laboratory space.\n\nInnovative Research Grant \nFunding to support 
 for high-risk/high-gain age-related macular degeneration research. Establi
 shed investigators are eligible to apply\, but the aims of the application
  must contain outside-the-box ideas that are novel in the field.\n\nDurati
 on:     max. 3 years\n\nFunding:       $200\,000/year\n\nEligibili
 ty: Applicants must hold an MD\, PhD\, DVM\, DO\, OD or equivalent degree.
  The applicant must serve as the PI on the project and have independent la
