DESCRIPTION:Every 2 years\,  the CANSEARCH Foundation launches a call for
  proposals for a research grant in paediatric oncology and haematology. Th
 e 2024 call is now open\, deadline on March 31st 2024\, 12pm.\n\nScope and
  eligibility:\n\n	Fellowship aimed at young researchers based in the Frenc
 h-speaking part of Switzerland.\n	Support for new and ongoing innovative r
 esearch projects in paediatric oncology and haematology\n	Projects conduct
 ed in academic institutions in the French-speaking part of Switzerland (GE
 \, VD\, VS\, NE\, JU\, FR\, including BE):  applicants must be affiliated
  with an academic research institute or laboratory.\n	Priority given to co
 llaborations of several institutions based in French-speaking Switzerland\
 n	Clinical\, epidemiological\, basic or translational research in paediatr
 ic\n	All types of paediatric cancers or haematological diseases\n	Priority
  given to paediatricians (in training or with completed training or PhDs i
 n paediatric institutions)\n\nFunding:\n\n\n	Maximum awarded amount CHF 25
 0\,000\, to cover salaries/ equipment/ consumables/ IT/ travel expenses/ t
 raining.\n	One or more project(s) awarded each per call. Project duration 
 1 to 2 years\n\nCall timeline:\n\n\n	Pre-application/ declaration of inten
 t: March 31st 2024\, 12pm\n	Submission of full proposal by invitation\n	No
 tification of award: 30 September 2024.\n	Start of the project:  Within 1
 2 months after the receipt of the CANSEARCH Research Grant.\n\n\nHow to ap
 ply\n\n\n	Submit a letter of intent with a brief description of the projec
 t (2 pages) to CANSEARCH Foundation by March 31st 2024\, 12pm.\n	Submissio
 n must be sent by email :  valerie@cansearch.ch\,  using the template an
 d format provided by the CANSEARCH Foundation website.\n	Pre-selected proj
 ects will then be invited to submit a full proposal.\n\nEvaluation criteri
 a:\n1. Originality or innovative research aspects or social-economic aspec
 t and timeliness (for\nclinical projects)\n2. Adequacy of proposed researc
 h methods\n3. Feasibility of the PI’s group\n4. Past accomplishments (of
  the PI\, the leading group\, as well as the other groups)\n\nApplicant’
 s eligibility: the applicant should be\n• A scientist (physician\, MD\, 
 MD-PhD\, PhD or PhD student)\n• Areas of expertise: pediatrics\, oncolog
 y\, hematology\, genetics\, biomedicine\, biostatistics\, molecular biolog
 y\, transplantation\, cell therapies\, immuno-oncology\, etc.\n• No age 
 limit at the time of project submission (priority given to researcher <45 
 years old)\n• Clearly identified protected time for this project\n• Th
 e applicant needs to have a stable position during the time of the grant i
 n Suisse Romande\n• A researcher attached to the CANSEARCH research plat
 form in paediatric oncology and haematology at the University of Geneva (t
 he Platform) may apply for the CANSEARCH grant but only as a co-investigat
 or\, not as a principal applicant.\n\nEvaluation process:\nFull proposals 
 will be evaluated by the scientific committee of the Swiss Cancer League (
 SCL) SCL’s  scientific review will be transmitted to the Scientific Com
 mittee of the CANSEARCH Foundation and evaluations sent to the Board of th
 e CANSEARCH Foundation\, which will make the final decision.\n\nRequired d
 ocuments and information:\n• Letter of intent\n• Purpose and descripti
 on of the project (as per CANSEARCH form)\n• Detailed budget (as per CAN
 SEARCH form)\n• Equipment and consumables already at the applicant's dis
 posal must be indicated and accompanied by a letter of support from the su
 pervisor indicating that the equipment required for the research is provid
 ed by the University. Salaries to be assessed according to the SNSF salary
  scale\n• CV\n• Summary of professional achievements and their impact 
 on pediatric cancer control\n• Complete list of publications including H
 -index and identifying the 5 most recent publications in the field relevan
 t to the CANSEARCH award\n• 3 Letters of recommendation for a MD\, MD-Ph
 D or PhD student (<45 years old): 1 from the supervisor\, 1 from another p
 erson familiar with the researcher's work and 1 from the organization or i
 nstitute to which the researcher is attached\n• No letters of recommenda
 tion are required for a Senior researcher (>45 years old) or a Professor\n
