DESCRIPTION:Synapsis Foundation supports innovative research projects on A
 lzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders. The call 202
 6 call for proposals of the synapsis foundation has now been published for
  four funding programmes: Career Development Award (for Advanced PostDocs)
 \, Research Grant for Principal Investigators\, Pilot and Consolidator Gra
 nts.\n \nBasic\, Translational and Clinical Research:\n\nPrincipal Invest
 igator Grants:\n\nFueling innovative projects led by established research 
 teams. Funded projects are supported with up to CHF 300’000 for up to 3 
 years.\n\nEligiblity: Principal investigators working at Swiss universitie
 s or non-commercial research institutions.who have not received funding fr
 om the Synapsis Foundation for at least one year at the time of submissi
 on\, are eligible to apply. Project proposals that have been previously re
 jected by the Foundation may be resubmitted once\, accompanied by an expl
 anation of the changes made to the original application.\n\nCareer Develop
 ment Awards:\n\nEmpowering advanced postdoctoral researchers at Swiss univ
 ersities and research institutions to establish themselves as independent 
 investigators in neurodegenerative disease research. Funding is a maximum 
 of CHF 100’000 per year for up to five years (phase 1 and 2 together)\, 
 pending on a successful reapplication after phase 1.\n\nEligiblity: In PHA
 SE 1 advanced postdoctoral scientists conducting research in a host labora
 tory at a public research facility in Switzerland are supported for up to 
 three years. Researchers who have worked 3 - 5 years as postdoctoral resea
 rchers at the time of application are eligible to apply. The awardees must
  submit annual progress reports and a final report. To apply for PHASE 2 o
 f the fellowship\, applicants must submit a progress report\, research pla
 n and a career plan at least 3 months before the completion of phase 1. Ap
 plicants qualifying for phase 2 of the award will be invited for an interv
 iew with members of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Foundation.\n\nRe
 search Grant Competition 2026:\n\nThis call invites applications for proje
 cts aimed at developing and/or validating digital and non-pharmacological 
 approaches for the prevention and diagnosis of dementia\, as well as for t
 he care of people living with dementia. The topics covered in this call in
 clude:\n\n	Prevention strategies to reduce the risk of dementia\, delay it
 s onset\, or slow disease progression\n	Innovative digital approaches to a
 dvance timely and accurate diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases\n	Non-p
 harmacological interventions aimed at enhancing the treatment\, support\, 
 and overall quality of care for individuals living with dementia\n\nTwo di
 fferent funding opportunities are offered:\n\n\n	Pilot Grants of maximum C
 HF 100’000 for one year\n	Consolidator Grants of maximum CHF 250’000 f
 or up to three years\n\nResearchers working at Swiss universities or non-c
 ommercial research institutions\, who have not received funding from the S
 ynapsis Foundation for at least one year at the time of submission\, are e
 ligible to apply. Each applicant can only submit one application in respon
 se to the 2026 call for proposals. Project proposals that have been previo
 usly rejected by the Foundation may be resubmitted once\, accompanied by a
