DESCRIPTION:Alex Belin\nI will start by summarizing the status of pure 3d 
 gravity in Anti-de Sitter space and review the progress on some of the lon
 g-standing puzzles of the topic. I will then propose a candidate for the d
 ual of pure 3d gravity. Much like JT gravity\, its two-dimensional cousin\
 , this model is not a standard quantum mechanical model\, but rather an en
 semble average. The members of the ensemble are approximate 2d CFTs\, mean
 ing they almost satisfy the bootstrap consistency conditions. I will discu
 ss the status of the model\, and its connection to the sum over topologies
  in the bulk.
