DESCRIPTION:HRC\, Habitat Research Center\nWater Designs: l’eau dessine
la ville\n\n\nWater design is of major importance today. The risks associa
ted with water and climate change are a cause of global concern.\nCities a
nd territories are becomming the ‘water laboratory’ in which to shape
the socio-ecological transition.\n\nWater is about life\, space and power
relations.\nThe project of water is biopolitical.\n\nThe exhibition focuse
s on several fundamental paradigm shifts around Water Designs that charact
erize our times and a plurality of geographical\, disciplinary and cultu
ral contexts. To this end\, the exhibition is organized around two main co
nceptual and spatial devices : a frieze\, organizing a water genealogy an
d and a panel of contemporary explorations.\n\nThe exhibition presents pro
jects carried out at EPFL in the ENAC faculty and the works of Lausanne Ja
rdins\, together with explorations and reflections produced in a broader c
ontext. It will echo the cultural event Lausanne Jardins 2024\, entitled
“Between Water and Us”\, which questions the strategic capacity of gar
dens to strengthen the resilience of contemporary cities and their ability
to adapt to the challenges of climate change\, loss of biodiversity and f
 inite resources.\n\nCuration Archizoom & Habitat Research Center\, EPFL\n
