DESCRIPTION:Aim\nFor talented early-career scientists who have already pro
 duced excellent supervised work\, who are ready to work independently and 
 show potential to be research leaders.\nA Starting Grant Principal Investi
 gator should have already shown evidence of the potential for research ind
 ependence\, for example by having produced at least one important publicat
 ion as main author or without the participation of their PhD supervisor.\n
 \nFunding & duration\nMax. EUR 1.5 Mio for a period of max. 5 years (pro r
 ata temporis for shorter project duration)\nAdditional funding can be requ
 ested for up to EUR 1 Mio for:\n(a) "start-up" costs for Principal Investi
 gators moving to the EU or an Associated Country from elsewhere as a conse
 quence of receiving the ERC grant\, and/or\n(b) the purchase of major equi
 pment\, and/or\n(c) access to large facilities\, and/or\n(d) other major e
 xperimental and field work costs\, excluding personnel costs.\n\nEligibili
 ty\n\n	Applicants must have successfully defended their PhD\, the eligibil
 ity window is >2 and ≤ 7 years → successful defence of PhD between 1 J
 anuary 2018 and 31 December 2022.\n	Principal Investigators must commit a 
 minimum of 50% of their working time to the project and a minimum of 50% o
 f their working time in a European Member State or Associated Country.\n	F
 or applicants without professorship EPFL requires the approval of the Facu
 lty/Institute hosting the ERC project in case granted. For information abo

 r together with their project-proposal\, please consult the EPFL Starting 
 Grant toolkit for instructions to obtain the EPFL commitment letter.\n	Pro
 posals are submitted via the EU Funding & Tenders portal the latest on 15 
 October 2024\, 17:00 CET. Instructions for the online proposal preparation
