 Peter Scholze\, we have developed a different formalism for describing the
  kinds of mathematical objects which arise when algebraic and topological 
 structures get mixed (for example\, topological vector spaces).  I will p
 resent this approach and discuss how it naturally gives rise to new founda
 tions for analytic geometry\, allowing much more general types of "spaces"
