DESCRIPTION:Aim: The aim of the WCRF Regular Grant Programme is to support
innovative and original research into the role of diet\, nutrition and ph
ysical activity in either Cancer Prevention or Cancer Survivorship.\n\nThe
programme groups research into two themes – cancer prevention and cance
r survivors. Each of these areas may be addressed either from the perspect
ive of identifying the mechanisms that underpin the effect of diet\, nutri
tion and physical activity on cancer\, or by addressing the host factors t
hat influence individual susceptibility to cancer development or progressi
on\, and so contribute to explaining variability between people in outcome
 s. For cancer survivors\, we also encourage broader research into evidence
for impact of diet\, nutrition (including body composition)\, physical ac
tivity and outcomes after cancer diagnosis\, as robust evidence on this is
still lacking\n\nFunding is available for investigator-initiated grants (
IIGs)\, and pilot and feasibility grants (PFGs). IIGs are for researchers
working on WCRF's research areas and themes. PFGs are intended as start-up
funds for preliminary research to allow researchers to collect preliminar
y data or test study parameters to take them to a stage where an applicati
on for an IIG would be appropriate.\n\nDuration:\n\n	IIGs: 4 years\n	PFGs:
2 years\n\nFunding:\n\n\n	IIGs: up to £500\,000\n	PFGs: up to £60\,000\
n\nEligibility: Lead applicants must hold a research position at the host
institution for the duration of the project anywhere in the world except t
he Americas.\n\nHow to Apply: Applications must be made using the foundati
on’s Grants Management System. Once registered with the system\, you wi
ll have access to the application forms for open grant rounds. You will f
ind instructions on how to complete the applications on the WCRF GMS site
and on the programme’s page. Ensure you carefully read through the ins
tructions and the guidelines below.\n\nDeadline\, first stage: 30 October
2024\nDeadline\, Full proposal (by invite): March 2025\n\nFurther informat
ion\n\n\n	More information about the program is available here and FAQ her
