DESCRIPTION:Aim: This award supports talented early career scientists and 
 their research vision as they transition into tenure-track or equivalent f
 aculty positions. Fellows engage in a lively\, interdisciplinary community
  and participate in scientific and career development activities.\n\nThe 2
 025 request for applications is intended for senior postdoctoral scholars 
 or equivalent researchers whose backgrounds and experiences are underrepre
 sented in science and whose future research program advances the mission o
 f either the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative (SFARI) or Si
 mons Collaboration on Plasticity and the Aging Brain (SCPAB). Fellows may 
 activate awards at research institutions within or outside the United Stat
 es.\n\nIndependence Fellows will be provided with up to five years of supp
 ort\, split into two awards: 1) optional Postdoctoral Award (for a maximum
  of two years)\, and 2) Faculty Research Award (for three years).\n\nDurat
 ion: max. 5 years\n\nFunding: max. $820\,000\n\nEligibility: The program i
 s aimed at Ph.D. and/or M.D.-holding scientists from diverse and/or histor
 ically underrepresented groups in science (examples here) who are currentl
 y in a non-independent\, mentored training position at an institution with
 in or outside the U.S. and who will be actively seeking and applying to te
 nure-track faculty positions between September 2025 and May 2026. Independ
 ence Fellows are expected to apply\, secure and transition to a tenure-tra
 ck faculty position at a research institution within or outside the U.S. b
 y the end of the 2026-2027 academic year.\nThere are no citizenship requir
