DESCRIPTION:Cyril Veillon    \nSun Shines on Architecture\n21.03-21.06
.2025\n\nThe relationship between architecture and the sun has profoundly
shaped the design and construction of buildings for millennia. Yet\, the i
ntegration of solar energy into the built environment has remained rather
marginal to this day.\n\nAlthough the sun has always been there as a sourc
e of energy and beauty\, it seems we have waited for the depletion of foss
il resources to truly turn to it. The manifesto of the Solar Biennale decl
ares: its time has finally come\, but it is not enough to simply plug the
sun into an outlet. A holistic approach to solar design must be embraced.\
n\nThe current “solar movement” rethinks architecture and urban planni
ng on a global scale\, placing the sun at the center of our concerns. The
exhibition explores how this energy source\, whether used passively or act
ively\, becomes a true architectural element\, benefiting any renovation o
r new construction project.\n\nGuided tour by Cyril Veillon\, curator of t
he exhibition\n\nOrganised at ARCHIZOOM at EPFL as part of the Solar Bienn
 ale 2\n \n
